External Hard Drive

    Hi

This has probably been discussed a thousand times, but I've got a quick question. I want to buy an external hard drive for backing up music, videos, photos, etc from my laptop. I did a bit of online shopping around and there seems to be vast differences between various models.

For instance I can get a Seagate 320GB External Hard Drive for €129 or a LaCie 250GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive for €109. But then there's other ones with half / quarter of the storage for double the price.

Can someone please advise what the best option is or even what the differences are (performance, speed, quality)? If anyone has any recommendations I'd be delighted to hear them

Personally, I would pick a price point and buy to that. You don't sound like a power user who worries what speed the drive runs at, so I wouldn't get too hung up on the specs.

As long as it is USB2 and your laptop has a USB2 port, you should be fine.
