    Sky Audio Question

    Hi there

Does anyone know how I can connect my sky box to my external speakers? The sound from my TV isn’t the best. My speakers only have a 3.5 mm phono cable, (similar to a normal headphone cable). I had a look at back on sky box and I see there RCA attachment.

If I attach a 2 x RCA Cable Leads to 3.5 phone cable and somehow get a connecter to join the 3.5 phono cables will it work?

    Many thanks

My Sky+ box (HD) has Digital Dolby surround sound, fibre optic cable between sky box and Denon receiver, stunning sound.

Very, very little and nothing on ordinary channels is in more than Stereo.

I suspect they are amplified speakers (with volume control), if this is the case its OK.

If the OP can confirm the speakers use a power supply, they are obviously amplified.

OP can get get a cable with stereo 'RCA' plugs at one end, and a 3.5mm plug at the other end, and a 'joiner' for the two 3.5mm plugs at Maplin etc

Or you can get a 3.5mm socket with two RCA plug flying leads.

Yes the speakers are amplified. I have the cables just having trouble obtaining a joiner. Answered my question though, thanks guys.

I'll have a look for 3.5mm socket with two RCA plug flying leads
