Bad Manners or just a bad attempt at being funny?

Knocked out of the Boards game in the SE and I decide to sit down for the 1, 2, pl holdem cash game. The game is exceptionally slow as there are 4 english guys who are more interested in the cricket on the telly than the game. There is an older bald guy in seat 9 who I know from poker events games, but haven't played at a table before with him.

Anyway this hand develops, a northern guy who has sat down only about 10 minutes raises the pot to 10 and gets the usual 7 runners, I fold.

Flop comes 10, 8, 2, rainbow. Northern guy bets 70, bald guy calls. Turn is Q, Northern guy bets 120 older guy goes all in for about 270ish northern guy calls.

Then baldy guy says "have you a straight", no replies Guy, Have you two pair, nop says northern guy, and flips over pocket 10's for set and the baldy guy flicks over 9, J for the Nuts.

Few people at the table say that its very bad form, to which he replies, I just wanted to know if I am splitting the pot and then starts laughing away while collecting the chips, and then says "sure with you calling my all in I thought you had the straight aswell, bit of a loose call.


It was way too late to be listening to this nonsense and I felt a tilt coming on so I left and cashed out.

This was after all action was complete, yes?? Wouldn't bother me to be honest but I'm not one for waiting for the other guy to show his hand first or asking/answering questions about hands.

just curious, what exactly is the boards game?
havent been on here long

and i dont like when people ask what someone has and then doesnt say or show what they have, really bad form. cant be banned for it though, just bad etiquette(spelt wrong, cant spell today, or ever )

I was just discussing slowrolling the other day in the Fitz and I could only come up with one definite person who I would take pleasure in slowrolling, but I wouldn't do it still. He happened to be in the same game as me at the time too which was coincidental.

Apologies, its not the Boards game, but alot of Boardsies have turned up for the Sporting Emporium monthly 200 deepstack game and hence why I called it "The Boards game", and as pointed out by Devore Boards.ie have no affiliation to the SE. It was just a way for alot of people who post here to turn up and play in a good structured deep stack tournament. Alot of people who post here go to the Fitzwilliam scalps game on a Friday night aswell, which is great fun.

smurph i also agree with you as this is very bad play and i think i know the guy your talking about, he's usually ok at the table as ive played with him a good few times, i'd say he had a few jars on him as he likes the oul beer.....

5star i can also think of a few people i would like to slow roll but i too would not do it as its been done to me before and its like a good kick in the nuts, when your thinking you've won the hand and then the guy turns over ur nuts or i mean the NUTS......lol

I'm consoling myself with the fact that I would have used the chips better than you. I can say that with 100% certainty because the situation is not repeatable and you can't prove i wouldn't have done better, so my point is proven I feel.

No problem, actually you were the only one at the table not pissed off, I was tired so not in best of form myself. The hand with you I actually had put you on AK or AQ, it was my own fault for not seeing the flop before checking. With that flop I would have gone in straight away so it would have been harder for you to call. Nice to meet you, hope you put my money to good use.

Im afraid my money would be on Dom, he has the patience of a saint, he's become a Mod for godsake. Lloyd would be my outside favourite, barring any broken toe incidents or furniture wrecking moments, he could do very well. Unfortunately im doing the stupid crimbo shopping but I wish you 3 the best of luck (go on dom ya good thing ya)

The place im playing in australia at the moment there is one guy who consistently slowrolls the nuts. Everyone gives him a load of **** for it but he still just sits there and waits for everyone to show and then looks at the board a few times to make sure then flips over the absolute nuts. It totally pisses everyone off.
