sky in apartment building

I currently have a sub to Sky because it's all my apartment building allowed in when it was first built. Now once since I subbed the signal went for a number of channels and after the management company eventually pulling the finger out, it was repaired and put down to vandalism.

The same thing has happened again, a number of channels on a certain band are gone and now the building is under new management no one is taking responsiblity. Where does the ownus lie? Our sky is installed through a company called elctroplus but they are demanding that someone pay for this to be fixed. The new manager is saying he doesn't know who should pay. So what is the story?

Also, considering we now only have a manager and not a company in the building does this mean we could now allow NTL Etc into the building?

It's only a sub to Sky if you have a Sky Digibox and are paying Sky. If it is using central shared digiboxes it may be illegal. Who do you pay the money to?

If you have a real Sky sub I can't see how you can lose a few channels.

You could club together and get a proper satellite distribution system. And even have NTL too. With a proper system you have a choice of free BBC/ITV etc on satellite and/or Sky pay channels. Usually there is a once of connection charge and small monthly or annual charge for system maintenance

We're all hooked up the one dish but we all have our individual subs and digiboxes, I assure you there is nothing illegal about it.

As for losing channels, I can't remember the exact terms but the last time it happened they said a band converter or transponder had been tampered with, thus eliminating channels on a certain frequency.

Then it shouldn't cost much to fix whatever is wrong. It's just dish with Quatto LNB and a distribution system.

    I presume everyone is affected?

I don't know why they would be using anything other than distribution amps and multiswitches.
