If you dont give a new employer your p45 and they have to get a tax cert ,would they know from the document if someone had been on the unemployment benefit before they employed them? the new employer is under the impression you were in employement before they hired you and going straight from that employement to emplyemnt with them

You can hand in your p45, remember the HR dept are different to the interviewers and maybe will not notice.

And you should read the bottom of it, as it is possible to not send in your previous earnings, you fill in some details, ring the tax office about that, then you are not telling your new employer your preious earnings. and they will not know etc. I know sw take the last slip of p45, but really who cares!!!!!

Say you were contracting, and you have a few weeks off so you claimed if your hassled, I would not worry about this.

Do well at role and you will be fine.

    Gerry
