    Hi

This light came on the fathers car over the weekend. He doesn't have a manual, and isn't sure what it means. The funny looking circle with the dashed line surrounding it above the temp gauge in the pic below.

Can any of ye shed some light on the subject as to what it is....

    Thanks a million

its one of 2 things. low brake fluid or brake pads worn. if its the fluid low get it checked out as the fluid has to have gone somewhere, eg maybe a leak.

    Front Brake pad wear light.
The handbrake light comes on for low fluid level.
Need to get them done asap

lets hope its just the pads...the longer you leave it then the metal of the pads will wear into the discs and you'll have to replace them aswell. The warning light usually gives you 2-3mm of pad left so tell him to get them replaced in the next 2 weeks.

Check that the brake fluid resevoir senor hasn't become disconnected. A simple fix. And not unheard of on Audis.

It's the brake pad wear indicator. NOT brake fluid. Best to get them checked and replaced if necessary.
