    Ok so my iPod (4th Gen Photo) is displaying the sad iPod icon, i've tried resetting and forcing it into disk mode as apple recommends but neither works? Any ideas? This happened it about a month ago aswell butonce I got it home and plugged it in to my comp it worked again?

    Is it bust? I really dont wanna have to get a new one because I want to wait until they release a new iPod!!

    Try updating the software maybe, or get it again if you have the latest

    Ok so still no activity so I checked out the Apple Repair Service and was quoted €261!!!!!! They must be having a laugh, for that I could get a new Nano!

    I had the same - ipod Photo - sad face - 261 for repair - 1 month out of warrenty. To say I was pissed is an understatement.

    I ended up just smashing it to bits - great pleasure in doing that. I'm going to replace it with an iRiver Clix.

    Not buying anything from Apple again
