Lidl DVB-T Receiver?

    Lidl have this LCD television receiver on sale next Thursday (€199).

    It would appear that this model is the same as this one which is currently on sale in Lidl England and which supports DVB-T.

    So, my guess is that the model on sale in Ireland will also support DVB-T and allow people to view the current DVB-T trial service from RTE.

    That's a lot of guessing and conjecture!
    Can't see the link to the UK product. It may not be available any longer. Managed to grab a cached version, here.

    The price difference and functional specification listed, would suggest that these are different models. (150 quid sterling =~ 223 euro). The Irish model is likely a cut-down version that doesn't include the DVB-T tuner, the DVB-T antenna, and a few other bits and pieces. Still, if you're in the market for this kind of product, it's worth a look. Even if it does have the DVB-T functionality, remember:

    1) There's no gaurantee that you will be able to receive the trial signals (throw in the added invonvenience of antenna's or cabling from underneath your Kitchen cupboards!)

    2) There's no guarantee that the future DVB-T transmissions will be supported by this device.

    Very often even HDTV sets sold here don't have the DVB-T tuner in UK market.

    Offically we have no DTT
