Question on Lip sync for stop animation..

Hey just a quick Q.. If i were to make a short film using characters (figures: ie. He-man, Gi Joe etc) how would i put lip movements on top of them.... Has anybody seen Robot Chicken? That's what i wanna do... but all the programs i find are for game developers and flash animation.. anyone have any ideas?? thanks
