    Yes, they are. Pretty much anything is "legal" on a classic. If it needs an NCT, I believe they are still legal.

    Indeed they were. Things changed progressively from the early 90s I think. You still see the odd car with yellow lights. My 1952 Citroën still has them, but has not moved at night for a long time.

    The theory was)is that yellow light "cuts" through fog much better than white light (at same intensity...).

    If it needs an NCT, I believe they are still legal.
    Yes, the NCT manual states that the headlamps "must show a light of the same colour (white or yellow)".

    God how I hated those yellow lights, the only good thing about them was you knew to beware of Frenchman approaching! :D

    I like to think the sickly yellow-tinged frogeyes are a bit sinister at night!
