Am currently looking into getting a machine from Ankermann-pc.com. Their prices seem excellent, and shipping cheap.

So far i have decided on
    - INTEL Core 2 Duo E6400 2,13Ghz FSB 1066 S.775 2x2MB: € 45.99
    -
    -
    - SATA-II 300 GB MAXTOR 6V300F0 (7200rpm-16MB): € 53.90
    - 256MB DDR-II RAM G-Skill CL4 533MHz
    - DDR-II upgrade from 256MB to 1024MB AENEON 667MHz: € 87.90
    - DDR-II RAM 1024MB TRANSCEN PC667: € 99.90
    - LIGHTSCRIBE HP DVD840i 16x DVD-RW + & - DL (CaseColor): € 46.00
    - DVD-Drive IDE Samsung 16x/52x SH-D162C/BEWE (CaseColor): € 15.90
    - Floppy Drive: € 6.50
    - Ankermann Tower 6x USB 2.0
    - Intel CPU cooler
    - 400W BESTPOWER SuperSilent-Temp Controled: € 7.00
    - Realtek ALC888 8 channel audio
    - 10/100 Ethernet LAN

In essence, core 2 duo with 2.13ghz, 2 gb ram and 300gb had.

Which motherboard and GFX card should i get with this setup?

I have no need for a state of the art GFX card, as it is not to be a gaming computer, more like a media centre. I will also need a card which will allow me to connect my tv connection to, allowing me to to record TV programmes to the HD.

TBH i have not got a clue when it comes to the motherboard, so all advice would be welcomed.

What would people think of this combination?

    - MSI P965 Platinum (P/S/GBL/SATA/DDRII): € 84.90
    - PCI-e 256MB ATI RADEON X1600-Pro TV-out- DVI: € 66.20

    Thanks

    Emmet

well there's €400 already on it, basically all those prices are upgrade prices (from the base model) So it's €400 before you start tinkering

How is it possible that are they selling that CPU for €46 when the same chip costs €233 on Komplett? It must be a huge error.

I'd keep to the same RAM manufacturers if possible.

    - DDR-II upgrade from 256MB to 1024MB AENEON 667MHz: € 87.90
    - DDR-II RAM 1024MB TRANSCEN PC667: € 99.90

    ::EDIT::

Just saw your last post. Still seems cheap!
