Connect laptop-desktop 2 run antiv?

    I have a laptop and a desktop, I think I have a virus on my desktop, is there anyway that I can connect my laptop to my desktop and run my antivirus software, Kaspersky. and remove the virus?:confused:

    Can you not just install Kaspersky on the desktop? If you connect the laptop to the desktop, the laptop would probably get infected too.

    download AVG free edition 7.5 install that on your laptop and don't uninstall it.

    I downloaded the Kaspersky antivirus off the net so I have no disc to run on my desktop

    Please excuse my ignorance but I really don't have a clue when it comes to the in and outs of technology!
    download AVG free edition 7.5 install that on your laptop and don't uninstall it.

    What is AVG free edition?

    and, its an anti-virus prog, thats free

    Thanx for the info guys.

    You see the reason I would have to use the laptop to run the antivirus is that I can't go any further than the startup screen on my desktop, I can type in my windows password and move the mouse for a second and then everything just hangs..............:confused:

    boot into "safe mode" on the desktop
    repeatedly press f8 while the pc is turning on and youll get the menu for it.
    you should be able to run the anti virus from there

    if that doesnt work you can buy a usb enclosure that you can put the pc hard drive into
