Not good news, I've noticed in the last week that the over round has been increasing steadily. Some of the SPs are a complete joke too. I was at sandown and the SPs for both My way the solzen and Kauto start were a joke. 2s on was generally available on Kauto.

Yet another example of racing bending over and allowing the big 3 bookmakers access to penetrate. I notice there was never talks of a new system pre the exchanges when over rounds were massively higher than they are now.

I remember John McCririck having a rant about this a few months ago. I didn't realise it was now in place. The whole SP system is a joke with nobody really knowing how the SP is arrived at. It's open to massive misuse by those with the influence to do so.

All the latest changes will do is push punters further away from the bookmakers and closer to the exchanges.

he had a rant about it last week as well MK, at least we have someone not afraid to tell it like it is.

"2s on was generally available on Kauto."
surely u mean 1/2 or 4/9 which was what it was when they opened the betting. (stayed like that too)

One thing i'd like to see is some independent body monitoring cash totals taken on horses(what the total take per horse is) and we might finally see if the bookies are manipulating the odds with no real money going on (false favourites etc)
    PLUS!

ever notice race goes off and the SP takes a final cut on the short priced fav? 2/1 >7/4 etc. why dont they enforce teh SP that if the race is off the prices freeze at that point.????
    /rant :P

2s on i.e. 1/2 was generally available at the off, saw this with my own two eyes. 4/9 SP was a complete joke.

Sure there is a problem with SPs but there is also a problem with 'live' prices being relayed to the offices (Barney Curley has a very good rant about this in his book). I've lost count of the times I've been on course when say 3/1 has been generally available in the ring on almost every board but 3/1 is not relayed to the shops, 11/4 being the largest price show in the offices.

    Yep it is a joke.

What annoys me most is the UK's big 3 using "office money" to artificially drive down odds on the track to lower the SP. It should be illegal.

In most other industries surely this kind of practice would be considered anti competitive, using your market dominance to move the market in your favour.
