Poker Tracker for your drunk times

A few days ago I wiped my pc and have started reinstalling stuff as you do, on my reinstallation of pokertracker, I have decided to run several different databases, one for short handed no limit, one of full ring no limit, one for short hand limit play, one for full ring limit play, that reminds me I need to do a seperate one for sngs.

Anyway while I was doing this, I thought hmm what about doing a seperate one for when I've had a few, of course I shouldn't play when I've had a few and in recent times have got more disciplined about it, but alas I do every now and then. Also I'm unsure how much these times have affected my winrate - I've no doubt that my winrate is reduced by them but I'm unsure if I actually lose during those times, this way I will know for sure and also I think it would be an interesting exercise.

Anyway just wondering what people think of this idea and if anybody else does something similar?

Also does anybody know is there a way when you open poker tracker that you are forced to select a database instead of it going to the default one, I'm pretty sure there isn't but asking just in case.

    might do the same myself..
need to wipe the slate clean after having a massive losing drunken session recently which completely crippled my bankroll..
mypt stats are not a reflection of my true game anymore.. my beautiful green stats have turned to red and my PFR% has significantly increased..
what's needed is a reinstall, a new database, and a pledge never to play drunk ever again..

    alcohol + tilt = -ev

I can't leave more than a couple of hundred online because I will lose it if I'm drunk. I'm just being honest. I enjoy drinking and gambling and have no intention of giving either of them up. But I can't do both together.

I would say that half of all my losses for this year, about 3 grand? happened when I was pissed and only about 5% of my wins. I'm sure theres a lesson to be learned somewhere there but I can't quite put my finger on it.

hold on, ok I got it now.

You can have one database and just use the filters in the preference tab to seperate your games. If you use seperate databases it means having to close and open them all the time - you can only have one open at a time with PT. I would suggest using different DB's for different skins rather than different stakes but again, its easier to just use the filters.

Yeah I know about the filter stuff and that's what I was doing before, I'm experimenting with doing it this way though as since I play a reasonable amount it will keep the individual databases smaller, also in in the pokertracker guide it recommended doing this so you could load up seperate notes for short-handed and full-ring for certain sites like party.

Also if you want shall we say specialist data like my drunken tracker :D this seems like a nice way of doing it.

Have a feeling there might be other advantages to doing it this way but can't think of them right now.
