error message in media centre

    hi can someone please help me i keep getting an error message in the media centre every time i go into movies or weather it says that mfc71.dll was not found can anyone tell me what that means or what i need to do any help is welcome thanks sorry if its in the wrong section

    hmm... Sounds like your mfc71.dll is missing.. :rolleyes:
    It may have been accidentally deleted, or you've installed something that's not playing ball...

    You should be able to download it from here:
    http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc71

    Unzip it into your \windows\system32 folder.

    hi thanks for your help i tried that and still the same this is exactly what comes up when it happens activemovie window: ehexthost.exe _ unable to locate component thisapplication has failed to start because mfc71.dllwas not found reinstalling the application may fix this problem can you suggest anything else for who i could ask

    MSVCR71.DLL is the file your missing it seems (read this) as for putting it back I suggest you try re-installing the .NET 1.1 Framework as it comes with that.

    Install the Service pack for .NET 1.1 after that and see if the message pop's up.
