Mod i suppose u could lock this topic if you want but check with a admin first

This is NOT against boards rules.
You are not allowed to talk about where to download illegal content but you see these 2 shows have been canceled and the remaining episodes of each season are up on the NBC site for free to watch but only if you live in the US

A few months back sci-fi did the same thing except it was webisodes and the mods at BSG forum checked with the admins and since the content was legally free by the people who made it just not for those outside the US (too much strain on there servers), you are allowed under boards rules to post links to LEGAL episodes.

So does anyone know where u can download/watch these episodes please?

Its not legally free for you though. Its legally free for Americans. :/

It is legal for people in Ireland its just americans probably don't think of things like "what about people who dont live in the US"
they have no interest in wasting there bandwidth on non-Americans,

the point is the files are up there on the net legally by those that made it, the sites that allow you to watch restrict the areas of the world that can watch them.

its quite possible that Americans cousins who give us the episodes that where aired on tv its possible they dont know that we cant watch them outside America

No, it's more due to the fact that they sell the international broadcast rights to different organisations, and therefore they don't have the legal right to broadcast them outside the US.

other tv station are going to air smith? i dont think they would air a 1/2 completed cancelled series.

I just dont see how broadcast rights apply for a show that has been released onto the internet by those that made it.

The Inside was aired on ITV2 earlier this year.. was axed in the US last year on Fox after 8 episodes. And they aired the remaining 5.

But CBS stopped Smith after 4 episodes, and released the last 3 on the web (so its different from The Inside, as that had a full mini-season filmed, and was not stopped mid-production).

All the Irish channels air cancelled single series and 1/2 season shows, RTE in particular show lots of them.

Only recently RTE aired Reunion, Kevin Hill; TV3 air Wanted; TG4 showed Bedford Diaries, etc.

They are just the ones I can recall from the last month or so. RTE have often had the first showing anywhere of episodes from shows cancelled in the US with unaired episodes.

Really it doesn't matter. Legally only the copyright holders can decide who is allowed distribute their material and if an authorised free download is blocked outside the US then there is no question that any other source is illegal.

It is illigal to make something free for certain people and illegal for others its called discrimination. If americans had to pay then it would be fine for us not to have it, if they asked me to pay to be allowed view/download them i would but they are free from CBS so if there free there free

i dont know how to go though a american proxy

wtf are you on about. do you realise how stupid that sounds? by that rational we should have all FOX, NBC and CBS programming on free television because the Americans get them free

they dont get them for free

how dont they get them for free. all those shows can be viewed freely through a television antenna

it was my understanding that you have to pay forthose stations in the US

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

No, viewers don't pay for them. There's no licence fee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,924 ✭✭✭✭BuffyBot

FOX, CBS, NBC etc are not pay channels.

they are cable channels though. So you have to pay a cable company to watch them. Who in turn pay a bit to the channels.

    cable channels?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

i am sure if they wanted you to watch they would not block it to those outside the united states

Yes, they do in this case. I'm not sure why you think they don't.

Its only because it was the same with the BSG webisodes they where only available on the sci-fi site and if you lived in the US but there was no problem with downloading them from torrent or BSG sties or on youtube.

The Admins also said it was ok for me to post links to them since they where FREE on the internet buy also ONLY to Americans.

So based on that was my assumption that it was ok to post a link to these episodes because i am actually having trouble finding kidnapped and TNH it was a decent enough show and got canceled early

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Webisodes are completely different. They are 5 minute mini episodes with bad acting, poor production values, and sideline characters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

I dont know i just dont see the difference, anyway it does not matter any more
