    Hi all,

I wanted to buy this shimano road clipless pedal which are the new SPD-SL pedal.

I think the SPD-SL system has tree bolts for the cheats while the standard SPD cheat have 2 bolts. Does this mean that when buying shoes that I must buy SPD-SL (3 bolt sockets) compatible? Find it hard to understand from online picture with shoes are compatible!

    Cheers

The cleat for the SPD-SL is considerably bigger than the SPD cleat, hence it won't fit in many mountain bike shoes. See the attached photo of my shoes (SPD is on the left; it's a Look cletr on the right but SPD-SL cleats are a similar size).
