    Hi John,

Enjoyed the night last night. The room is a bit rough around the edges at the moment but once ye finish the decorating it should be nice. There was a good crowd, hopefully that continues and even improves once ye start advertising properly. Chips, chairs , tables etc were of a good standard. Dealers were professional and seemed experienced.

    decor - no complaints

also, i remember reading somewhere else on here that the room needs a lick of paint and some pics on the wall - again, no complaints

maybe its just me, but I DONT CARE about those insignificant matters, I just want to play poker!!

went down to the rebuy tournie last night - first impresssions, well, i was very impressed!!!! tables, chairs, chips etc were of a good standard, dealers were good too.

but, I do have one MAJOR complaint (and no, its not the blind structure as someone else mentioned). its the quality of play - I counted only a handful of people who were there to play poker; the vast majority of people were there to play snap!!!! basically, fools!!!! all in calls with a 2-7, or a 3-9, or some other crazy cards, pre-flop of course. they, inevitably, ended up losing, bought back, and done the same thing AGAIN!!! it was so bad at one stage that the TD was standing at our table with two lots of chips ready for the rebuys every hand!!! one of the players involved in this bought back NINE times in the space of one round of binds (20mins) - and it wasnt just to get a good stack before the break, at one stage he was second highest in the tournie (won one game where there was 5 all-ins).

twas a joke, imo! all we wanted to do was have a nice game of poker; was that too much to ask (especially as it was a poker tournament)!!!

Now I'm really looking foreward to playing in the new vic, I don't know why your complaining, sounds great that donkeys are willing to build up a big prizepool in a freeroll, deadly.

ya thats good that there are poor players but if you get a whole host of them at one table and ur playing super tight and when you go in with kings or aces and they're cracked cuz like 4 people call you with crap cards and one flops 2 pair i'd say it could really get frustrating! Poker patience really is a virtue!

The above has me just a little confused.

Can you please explain to me the source of your anger.

I'm assuming this is a cheap buy in tournament, therefore you have to expect donkey play.
You're here now, you've bought in, sat down, you're opponents are generously donating their money to you, and you're angry why?

If poker is what you want to play, steer clear of these bingo games.

If the place is full of donkeys like you suggested, surely that'd be an incentive to play these tournys?!
Loads of dead money building to a nice prize pool, and a rebuy if they happen to suck out on you...

What about the total opposite, would you rather it was full of top pros who were an immense amount better at poker than you?

Oh and, were any of these guys playing the cash games after/when they were knocked out? If they were, it sounds like the ideal poker room tbh!

erm.... yeah - thats what i went in for, a game of poker!!!!!:D

unfortunately couldnt hang around afterwards for the cash games, but heard some interesting stories about what goes on (all good things, of course!)

    A bets 50 pre-flop,
    B raises to 150,
    A re-raises all-in with 580,
B calls for his last 480
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    hands turned over:
    A has 3,7 d
    B has J,8 off suit

inevitably, a diamond comes out on the river and A wins a nice pot

cant wait to get some of that action!!!!:) :):):)
