We are looking for a place in Ireland (hopefully closer to Dublin which has some kind of activity), would love cooking or pottery around the 29th of December. Romantic places would also suit as it would be our first few days as a married couple (can not travel abroad at the moment for health reasons). Thanks.

I just went on a really lovely weekend in Sligo with my bf. I was really stressed out from work so he took me away.

There's a good bit to do down there.... we went for a seaweed bath together which was an experience let me tell you! Was very romantic and different, I had to get him over his fear of seaweed first!
We stayed in the sligo park hotel and had a deluxe room which had a plasma tv and a huge bed. It was so nice and I really felt pampered. The hotel has a leisure centre (swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room etc). You can get massages, facials etc too.

We also did a but io dricing around (my bf is not from Ireland so he's quite touristy!) and there's definitely something romantic about sligo. It's very untamed and rugged.

We went for more of a relaxing weekend but there's loads to do in sligo. horseriding, golf, walking, surfing. I'm not sure about activities such as pottery but it's worth taking a look.

I had the best time becuse as I said I was v stressed from work and even though it was only a 3 hour drive it felt like we were miles from Dublin. I'd imagine that that would be a great thing if you wanted to have a mini honeymoon.
