SKY HD Questions(s)

I have a question I probably already know the answer to, but here goes.

In order to recieve SKY HD channels must I install a SKY HD decoder or can I go off and buy a compatable decoder elsewhere? Do compatabile decoders exist? I'm asking the question as I find the look of the SKY HD box to be quite bulky.

Secondly, are there any FTA or FTV HD channels available on SKY with a UK card, or any other card for that matter.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hobart.

BBC HD (but only a trial till April) Will work with compatible HD receiver.

Any of the other handful of HD channels are Sky Package, you need SkyHD box and SkyHD & Sky+ subs on top of existing or new sletected package. Also HDMI cable and 37" or larger really HD TV set. (Some "HD Ready" aren't very good resolution, go for 1920 x 1080i native pixels).
