Doctors fees

    Just reading through some previous threads and noticed that somebody paid their Doctor €55 for a sick note and script. Just like to point out that my Doctor only charges €30 a visit. He is a brilliant GP, I'd trust him with my life and the lives of my kids. If he charged €55 I'd gladly pay it.I've often gone back for a follow up appointment with one of the kids and he has only charged me €10 or sometimes says don't worry about it. Just wondering why do Drs fee vary so much? Friends tell me they pay €45 for a visit to their Drs. He doesn't take appointments its a walk in service so you could be waiting for up to 2 hours to be seen on a busy day but the advantage of this is that you know you will definitly be seen on the day your sick and not have to make an appointment for two weeks time when you could be dead! What is the recommended charge for a visit to your GP?

    The Doctors union tried to advise on what prices to charge but were raided by the competition authority - so as a result prices went up. Medical legal reports cost anything from 150 up to 500.

    they have a habit of making a balls of things when they stick their nose's in !!
    why not let the doctors agree a fee and set it ?
