Heres how it works, you MUST be someone who makes very few calls normally paying normal line rental and then a calls bill around €10 a month or less on average. This means you probably have that line for dial up or flatrate dialup or broadband, primarily.

That translates into an eircom bill of about €70 or less every 2 months excepting BB or Dialup costs.

Therefore you are entitled to join the Eircom Vulnerable User Scheme.

a) your line rental is reduced from €24.20 a month to €22.50 a month
b) you get the 1st €5 worth of calls free but the second €5 worth of calls costs €10 to make it up . After that you pay standard rates.
c) joining or leaving is FREE , simply ring 1901 and tll them you want to be a Vulnerable User Scheme customer.
If your average calls bill is about €4.99 a month including Vat then you get €6.50 a month off your eircom bill including the rental discount.
d) if you make more calls than about €10 you should look at one of their LR+Calls bundles but that could be a 12 month contract.
e) you MUST use eircom for line rental and calls.
f) You may have BB or Flat Rate with anybody you wish however. It does not affect your vulnerability.
