I have a newish 20gb iPod. Try as I might I cannot get music videos to play on it! I download the video and it converts it before copying to the music library. Once on the iPod, it plays but no sound? Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?? Is there a setting Im not aware of? Thks!

Stupid question but is it the iPod video that you have? What model is it? Might be the format you are converting to perhaps? iPod don't like avi files from what I recall. Can't remember off-hand the format that they do support.

hi soundman, yes its defintely the ipod video i have, its either 20 or 30gb. Yes ipods dont support .avi files but this one when I downloaded the video to my iTunes library, I think it converted it to .mp4 format? would that be right? Its said 'converting' as it was being transferred across so i assumed it would convert to the right format. I checked all the iPod help files and am completely stumped as to why it plays a picture and no sound!
