    Muppetkiller,
Spongebob is correct : prices quoted on the outlet are excluding vat. The system is 488 ex vat. Add to cart and apply the -80. System price is now 494.66. You then have to add the not too cheap Dell delivery of 50 euro, this bring you up to 550 odd as spongebob calculated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭muppetkiller

Well it's sold now anyway ...

Got the same one as mentioned in the first post for about 450 delivered just now, that one for 488 was there earlier before dell updated there deals but wasnt there a while ago, so i got the same thing i think for 517. Outlet has 140 euros off plus free shipping till the 14/12.

Even at 550 that was a seriously sweet deal. Add a better graphics card and another 512 or gig of memory and you have a great gaming PC for about 800-850....

somebody eventually took the first post system out of the cart, so cancelled my order and got the same thing for 422 euros ;)

Okay I don't know why I am doing this but..

    go to www.ebay.ie

    type in DELL PC..

now scroll down till you find pc's from the seller "Dellfactoryoutlet" (between about 3 to 8 pc's added a day and listed for 24 hours, and ignore all the other fake ones)

PC's usually go for ALOT less than the standard Dell outlet and these ones include VAT.. and the shipping is only e30.

I mean take a look now.. they only have one..

    Base: Dimension 9200 Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13GHz

    DVD Drive: DVD+/-RW (Read/Write) 16x (1 Drive)

Hard Disk Drive: 250GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive

MISC: Photo Shop Photo Album (5.22) - trial version

MISC: Audio Software Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy

MISC: Documentation 9200 with English Power Cord

MISC: Mouse Dell Wheel USB 2 Button Scroll Black

    Memory: 2048MB DDR2 533 [4*512]

Modem: V.92 Modem Data/Fax/Voice PCI UK

    Software: Image Restore Utility

Software: English - Microsoft Works 8

Video: Graphic Card 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 PRO

Operating System: Genuine Windows XP Home SP2

    Thats starting at e279..

If there were a few of those up, could end up going for around the 450/500 mark inc shipping.

I did buy a 3.4 dual core with everything for sub 500.

Of course if I tell you people this, that will drive the prices up.. catch 22.. but oh well, I've bought all my mates PC's from this place.. they are the cheapest on the net. Fullstop.

Well you might be lucky someday when other ppl arent in the hunt for stuff on their ebay store, but more often than not you wont see anything real cheap. Check the feedback and you'll be looking a while for bargains. Plus the irish ebay outlet is **** compared to the uk one. They get loads of stuff while the irish one has about 5 or so anytime i've looked at it and so you have more ppl bidding for the same thing anf upping the price. Plus u have the idiots who just like to win no matter what the cost is.

    take this for example:
    http://cgi.ebay.ie/DELL-PC-Laptop-LCD-Inspiron-1300-Scratched-8X0PJ2J_W0QQitemZ270062186541QQihZ017QQcategoryZ177QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

21hrs left and its already at 550 euros before shipping, i got a better one for a friend off the dell outlet last month with more ram, bigger harddrive and dvd burner for less than 500. So i'd say that one you mentioned will go for a lot if those other bidders are anything to go by.

Can Irish customers bid for items on the UK Outlet store.

    Would there be delivery problems?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,142 ✭✭✭TempestSabre

Just watch the Irish Outlet, bargains pop up there from time to time. You just need to keep an eye on it.

Just spotted it after posting. Thanks

There is alot of brainless bidding on the Ebay Outlet alright.
That laptop linked to earlier can be got NEW for as little as €513 delivered with more RAM but a 14.1" screen.

yup i dont touch those laptops.. they always go high

its the boxes that go for very cheap.. its hit and miss
depending on how many want it

theres alot of factors but if u are patient, one will come along and for some reason noone bids on it, or doesnt see how good the spec is..

I mean i just got one for my friend for 450 including postage..
It had a 220 euro graphics card in it!
was a dualcore, 1 gig ram, xp, etc etc.. absolute bargain..

    just gotta be patient

I don't see that on the main site. Can you be specific where you are seeing that.

    probably means outlet

"*Offer applies to orders placed on Dell Outlet only. Please note that the normal price for this product is set out at www.dell.ie. These savings will vary from time to time.* "

btw does anyone know by any chance if any sort of vista upgrades comes with recently purchased pc's from the outlet and also will dell outlet let you change the OS from xp home to media center?

    looking at the dellvistaupgrade site

"In order to be eligible for this program, you must have ordered an eligible Windows Vista Capable1 computer from Dell between October 26th, 2006 and March 15, 2007 with Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition, Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Genuine Windows XP Professional pre-installed. See list of eligible systems. This redemption must be completed by no later than March 31, 2007 in order to take advantage of the promotional upgrade offer."

    https://www.dellvistaupgrade.com/LisOfEligiblePCs.aspx

Does that mean they have to give you a free upgrade to vista even if you bought from the outlet? If they do I wonder if they would let you upgrade from xp home to vista home premium :)

No. NEW PC's only purchased between the specified dates. Outlet machines are classed as refurbs.
The configuration of outlet PC's cannot be changed. They are sold as-is.
