Anything I can do to speed it up? The rainbow circle thingy comes up regularly. Things aren't as fluid as they were when I first got this (sept 06). thanks

Download the free app OnyX and run maintenance and cleaning. Also in OnyX, go into Unix utilities and check to see if there're any corrupted plutil files.
