VoIP call from overseas and caller ID

When my friend call me on my mobile from overseas , some times I can see his number on my mobile screen (which is save) , some times I can not,I just see call on the screen of the mobile.. he is using VoIP call from his work Why this happens ?

Could be his VoIP provider settings, I used to have the same thing happening on Blueface....sometimes it would give no number and other times it would list a UK number,

I dropped them an e-mail about it and they sorted it out for me
Obviously could be a different setup with other VoIP providers when it comes to "fixing" it for your friend.
