jesus thats some amount of money :D

would love ta have that much to spend on a pc...well you are definetly going to want to buy the parts and build it yourself or just get a customisation pc off dell or komplett etc if oyu dont want to build it yourself..and just customise it on the website..

you probably would have goten alot more replys if you posted this in the building and upgrading forum..but theyll see this soon..

id say get a E6800 core2extreme processor..some of the fast 2gb of ram..probably a 150gb raptor for os and games..then put some 2 320gb drives in there..then probably a 8800gtx graphics card..then a preety powerful power supply unit...cant forget nice case with good airflow..a dvd rw optical drive..a 24 inch widescreen monitor and your done :D

made a list :) youd have to get the monitor off ocuk doh..which costs about 900 euro..

    heres the list
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/shoplist.asp?mode=receive&si=406907&su=BD75748E-3B49-4D45-8103-11100082C3C4

it all adds up including monitor to 4000 euro..so youve a grand to spare..maybe on another 8800gtx or another monitor..

there will be more people that will answer to ya later that know there stuff theyll help ya out..

    Mesh's UBER Computer

If you have the money, they are the people to buy from

EDIT: That or ask Flaccus to build you a computer... although you'll need to add 10k onto your budget :D

Well above all else go for the Dell 26 or 30 inch monitor. They're brilliant. Maybe get a powermac, they're horribly overpriced so should be great. They run windows fine from what i've seen.

Overall if you're looking for 5k machine for games just buy a load of consoles and a half baked good computer for 2k.

'Half baked good computer for 2k' - I plan spending 1k this christmas and with that I am budgeting for a E6400 system, let alone 2k, and god above 5k!

TBH the only bottlenecks these days are the graphics card. So get the best one.

Also if its a budget of 5K I'd get two XTFT flat screens as big as possible. I mean for that much cash you could get a desk, printer/scanner and a nice chair.

5k to spend , easiest thing to do is just buy a high end alienware or XPS and spend the change on weekend in the red light district in Amsterdam

any system u spend 5K on will deprecate like a stone , just like all PC's at the moment so getting value for what u buy doesnt mean spend more it means spend wisely.

and by even thinking about buying from alienware..that is not spending wisely..either build your own from components..or get it pre built with the parts you want inside it..like on komplett, ankermann etc..not alienware
