Freecom DVB-T USB, has anyone actually picked up the test signals with this?

    Hi ,

    I picked this up in PC World today, and tried it on both the laptop and desktop without joy, I'm in Lucan and I used rabbit ears to check if I could pick them up, during the scan it picks up 2 strong signals towards the end of the scan but no channels, the Arcsoft Total Media package that comes with it, does not allow me to manually key in the frequency. So just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas?

    Can you actually get any decent analogue signal from Three Rock or Dundalk with set top aerial in Lucan? If I lived in Lucan I'd use an outdoor aerial.

    I've got one of these and have had no luck either. I'm at the southern end of Bray on relatively high ground, only a couple of km's away from 3 Rock, and can easily see the transmitter from my house. I can pick up an analogue signal no problem on a set top aerial, but all I get (using various test scanning software instead of the Arcsoft software) are the dummy test signals on 770 and 794MHz, but nothing at all on 738MHz (or +/- 166kHz either).

    Hi Alun,

    What other software did you try? I've a funny feeling theses Freecoms are duds. if you can't get anything a few miles from the transmitter there has to be someting up with the units.
