What is the cheapest option to get landline plus 2048/254 BB from Eircom? Is it cheaper to bundle these services?

I wouldn't have thought so. Esp with line rental going up.

Did you check the Eircom.net website?

    There are two bundles:

bb plus evening and weekend free local and national phonecalls costs €54.99

bb plus unlimited local and national phone calls costs €59.99

Line rental included in both packages.

you could get free local & national calls, + 2mbps/256kbps with magnet for €39 incl. line rental , but it has a 10GB cap. however saying that, its 50c per GB in excess of that only, so on an equivalent cost basis, €59 with Magnet gets you unlimited calls, 2mbps/256kbps uncontended ADSL2+ with 50GB 'cap' so to speak if you were to put the €20 saving towards the extra 40GB :-)

Oh and btw, eircoms advertising as just gotten worse, their packages are now being described as 'unlimited monthly usage' i mean, come off the stage.

3MB/512kbps ADSL2+ from Smart inc line rental is €35, no contention, limits or caps.

For another tenner (i.e. €45) you'll get free local & national calls.

Kinda begs the question why you'd consider paying €54 or €59 for the slower contended option, but it's your money....

Smart might not be available? Might not wish to change the phone number?

    Just to add

    BT 2m + Line rental = €40
BT 2m + Unlimited Ireland and UK calls + line rental = €54

Available everywhere Eircom is but cheaper.

Just to add that any advocacy of BT should carry a financial and a mental health warning.

    Correct. It's another €5 for the 3m/512k from Smart - €40 p.m.
