Paying Credit Card Off In Time

Hi all, By monthly repayment of credit card am i interpreting this correctly as the last day of a month...e.g. the 30th Thursday this month; and not a set interval since you were issued the card e.g. every 4.4 weeks(roughly weeks in a month) since you were issued the card?
