Music in stand-by?

    Hi,
After finding this, I'd like to try it out when I go to bed, just wondering is there any way that I could keep that going (which would mean I'd need the flash player, internet connection and sound) while the laptop is in stand-by? There's the "on" sound, think it's the fan, when it's not in stand-by and would love if the laptop was totally silent and using only what was needed.

    Any feedback would be appreciated:)

    No.
You might be able to make the fan quieter by adjusting your laptop's power saving settings (i.e. run the cpu slower so the fan should slow down too) but you're still going to need to have it cooled, so you're still going to have fan noise.
Some laptops can play CD's via their optical drives without fully powering the system on, but that's not really what you're after.

Thanks for that. How do I get to the power saving settings do you know? I see power options but that's just basic as far as I can see.:o

Some manufacturers will have their own software supplied to manage it, but you should be able to control it from power settings the windows control panel. I find that setting my computer to use "minimal power management" causes the CPU to run at its lowest clock speed when idle. Your mileage may vary.
