Hi all just looking for a little help,

me and some friends are of the opinion that as a player can,t act out of turn then he cannot be folded when absent from table until it is his turn to act. However have all played in various games recently where a player is folded immediately the second card is dealt!

somebody please help with correct explanation

    Cheers:D

Nope if your away from the table your hand is dead
And yes most( well the few i have played in) casino's/Cardrooms deem the hand dead if the player is not sitting when the second cards is dealt (can be once the first card is dealt)

Depends where you are. In most places if you are not in your seat when either the first or last card is dealt your hand is dead. In the Fitz, if you are not in your seat when action gets around to you then and only then is your hand dead. I am not too fond of this rule, mainly for the reason that you see people delaying just to let someone look at their hand if they are on the way back.

I agree with Dom. My preference is for the players hand to be dead immediately after the last card is dealt to deal with issues of people walking behind a player and seeing their hand etc. Also I don't think an unattended hand should ever be able to win a pot.
