Problem with outlook express can receive but not send

    Hope im posting this in the right forum.My problem is i can receive e-mail but not transmit it.First of il give you the error message i get when i try to transmit it. I have made only one change,i have changed the name of the lady im trying to send to "joeblogs"to protect her privacy.The error message is as follows............The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.The rejected e-mail adress was 'joeblogs@aol.com.' subject'hope you had a great thanksgiving',account 'home', server: 'mail 1.eircom.net', protocol: smtp, server responce : '553 sorry,that domain is'nt in my list of allowed rcpthosts [ #5.7.1 ];port: 25, secure [ SSL ] : no,server error : 553, error number : Ox800ccc79.................

    Thats the error message i get.IL give some more information that might have a bearing.I used to have a dial up eircom.net account.Indeed i still use them as my home page and my e-mail account settings remain unchanged ,perhaps they should be ? my present settings are ........

    Incoming mail [ pop3 ] mail 1 eircom.net

    outgoing mail [ smtp ] mail 1 eircom.net


    I have changed adress and brought my computer with me to longford town.I now have a broadband connection with the local cable tv company "crossan cable".They are a small outfit but offer a fast broadband 9mbits,their back up is'nt great though.I went to their office today and nobody knew how to help me with my e-mail problem. A few more bits of info doubt there relevant but you never know.I use windows ME and sometimes Firefox.Im using -internet explorer 6 and outlook express 6.Thats it if anyone can help i'd appreciate it.

    I tried changing part of my outgoing mail settings like this.....[ smtp ] crossan.ie did'nt work...this is the error message i got.....The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.     my problem remains if any one can help i'd appreciate it.

    youll need to get the smtp server for crossan
    once you have that enter it account settings in outlook under outgoing server
    the most obvious to try is smtp.crossan.ie

    if that doesnt work, call customer care and ask them as their website is woeful.

    oh, and i f**cking hate you with that broadband deal !!!!!

    Your outgoing server address (SMTP server) has to be that of your current ISP, not eircoms. Is the outgoing server actually smtp.crossan.ie or did you just give that a try yourself?

    I tried changing my outlook settings myself . It was jotted on the cardboard box my cable modem came in,along with the mysterious number 10.0.1.48 alas the day crossan cable to instal my connection i had the flu and did'nt question them as much as i should have.I may have to keep bugging crossan cable till i get some straight answers from them,unfortunately it's nearly a one man and his dog kind of operation.The only one you can meet is the secretary who looks at you like your asking for the 3rd secret of fatima.They know how to take 39 euro every month though !
