Hey everyone, didnt really know where to put this thread but seein as Im in NUIG, figured this would be the best place. Im basically looking for information about changing colleges at the end of this year, but to be honest, I dont even know if its possible. Ive asked loads of friends but its been really varied eg.
"You can only go to another NUI."
"You'll have to repeat 1st year."
    "No."
Im doin 1st Arts, lived in Galway my entire life and its gettin to the point where Id love to just relocate, get a fresh start, meet new people etc. The main problem I have about gettin information about anything general in college is that I dont have a clue who to go to. I mean, ive got a mentor, a year head, a co-ordinator and a million other things really. So if anyone has any info, itd be great!
    P.S. Was thinkin of UCD.

    Contact studentdesk@ucd.ie

They should be able to tell you if your studies to date would qualify you for an exemption from 1st Arts in UCD.

Write/email to the Head of the Arts Faculty in the college you want to go to, stating the subjects you are taking, any results you have to date, your L.C. results and asking if it would be possible for you to transfer directly into the 2nd year of their Arts course. Send the exact same to the Admissions Office of the college. They'll probably send you out a form to fill in. If the subjects you're taking now are obscure, and you want to take any of them in 2nd year and they're not available in the other college, then obviously you'll have to re-think. I'd say you should tell them what subject combination you'd like to take when you contact them asking if it's possible. Oh, and get the best results you can in your summer exams. Good luck!
