Does central house run on saturday? I read on betfair last night that connections would decide today but no news on any sports site.

He's still entered anyway. Maybe they're waiting to see if a certain other horse runs in it or not.

    He does indeed.
When his name appeared on the list of entries for Saturday´s race he was initially trading at around 6/1 as it was thought he was an unlikely runner. In fact, one punter managed to get on at 8/1 on Betfair, which now looks like the bet of the year.´

´Now that he´s been a confirmed runner, those fancy prices have obviously vanished. He´s tradi ng at 4/5 now but that will obviously contract further if Alan King takes Voy Por Ustedes out.´

Tingle Creek Chase Betfair Bet (Antepost): 4/5 Kauto Star, 3/1 Voy Por Ustedes, 7/1 Foreman, 12/1 Central House, 16/1 Dempsey, 16/1 Ashley Brook, Others 20/1 +

Up until this morning Nicholls still hadn't decided what he was going to do. I didn't know that it was confirmed.

Yeah they confirmed it this morning.
However, after liaising with owner Clive Smith and regular jockey Ruby Walsh, Paul Nicholls has opted to send the six-year-old to Sandown first, where he won the Tingle Creek by a length and a half 12 months ago.

"With a clear run up to the weekend, he will definitely run," confirmed Nicholls' assistant Dan Skelton.

"He (Nicholls) had a discussion with Clive and Ruby about the whole thing to see what's best and they've decided to give the horse a chance.

"He hasn't had a hard race this season and he's lightly raced overall and I'm sure a lot of people will want to see him run.

"It's also a decision that has been taken because he is in great old order with himself at home."

"id been trying to win a champion chase with a gold cup horse! we won't be thinking about tingle creek chases now. it's the king george and then the gold cup"

is this man a pathalogical lier or does he just not think before he talks??????
does he not remember the disaster of a couple of years ago with azertyuiop????
lets run him in the king george, lets run him in the celebration chase when hes over the top. ruined the horses career without a doubt.
if he runs kauto star on saturday he wants his head tested. they have been working all season on getting the horse to settle over 3 miles and just when his jumping is coming together over 3 miles there going to fire him into the tingle creek!!!!

    THIS IS A SHOCKING DECISION!!!!!!!!!!!
I PRAY YOU DO NOT RUN KAUTO STAR ON SATURDAY MR. NICHOLLS!!!!

A surprising decision to run Kauto Star, although the price money is not to sniffed at. If the likes of Ashley Brook, Foreman, Voy Por Ustedes all stand their ground it could be a great race.

If the ground becomes testing and there is a good pace combined with the speed the fences come in succession it could be more a test of stamina than one may intiailly think.

i suppose if it was up at 6/1 on betfair than connections of the horse may have wanted it to run... id be very suprised if the owner did not have a nice wager on it

if you think the horse being available at 6/1 on betfair had any bearing on whether or not they were going to run the horse you are mistaken

i can assure you mr. smith does not need 2k or whatever silly amount was laid on betfair that badly

Indeed, I don't think that came into it at all. As you say Nicholls runined azertyuiop's career, hopefully he doesn't do the same with this one.

lads, Clive Smith owns several golf clubs amongst his other business interests, there was not enough available on betfair to interest big hitters. Stable staff may have benefitted but it wouldnt have had any impact on the decision of hte owners/trainers to run him. Those on the betfair forum think there is a conspiracy behind everything.

As for Nicholls ruining Az. I agree that he shouldnt have run him in the KG, but he came out and won the Game Spirit giving 5lbs to Well Chief after that. He wasnt travelling in the QM where a mistake ended his race effectively - so I dont know if the KG caused that. (it can be argued that he wasnt going that well before the mistake but it was too far out to be certain)

Nicholls only mistake that we can be sure of was going for the Order of Merit and running the horse at Sandown. He was injured there - again whether or not that was because of the KG exertions or something that would have happended in any case, no one can ever know.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that running Az in the KG didnt ruin his career - the Game Spirit Chase showed that. The sandown run was a clear mistake on Nicholls part.

I think running KS in this race is an unneccessary risk, especially with the million pound bonus, up for grabs

didnt realise betfair worked like tht neva used it. fair point but i cant see any reason tht it would be run. far too risky... if voy por ustedes runs i wouldnt have my money on kauto star. y would u run against a quality horse who is trained for the distance... seems absurd
