    UFR 8 'The New Years Revolution' will take place at the Devenish sports complex Belfast on MARCH 11th,the best irish and UK talent will battle out on a fully professional card.
    Some exciting match ups have already been made including GREG 'THE HITMAN' LOUGHRANS lightweight title defence against MARTIN 'THE HEAT' BEGLEY who has been on an impressive winning streak

    Point Blanks Mark 'manslaughter' O'Toole will fight progressive combats Steve 'The smiling assassin' Lynch in a middleweight match up
    Mark is coming off a fine third round TKO victory over Gracie barra's Hugh fullerton
    Steve,one of the new PCC fighters is 2-0-0 in his impressive start to mma competition and is an acomplished striker

    Sudden Impact's Emmet 'the mauler McNally will take on Gracie Barra's Hugh Fullertons in a welterweight match up
    Emmet has been involved in some stand up wars and has a pro record of 5-4-1 and has had over 60 boxing bouts
    Hugh,altho representing GBNI has a strong thai background and also likes to stand and trade,both men have recently dropped from middleweight to the welterweight division,with emmet winning in two starts,could be another war!

    In a lightweight match we see chum sut fighter Brian 'fireball' Kerr make his pro debut against the experienced Sudden impact's Darrin Hughes
    Brian was unbeaten in the semi pro series and has an exstensive boxing background as well as being an irish tkd team coach
    Darrin is best known for his huge slams and solid groundgame,should be a good fight between two very contrasting styles

    Rod Moore(imma) will defend his UFR middleweight title against Tom Haddock(point blank),exciting match up between two of Irelands top fighters
    Last time these fighters met many felt the fight was stopped prematurely,up until that point it was WAR!
    Now they have the chance to do it again in a five rounder!,as a fan i can't wait for this.

    UL Kickboxings Alan Hannon will fight Belfast KMMA chief instructor Peter Lavery in a lightwelterweight (-73KG) match up
    Alan has impressed with wins at ROT and the UFR semi pro series while Peter who is known best in the UFR ring for his reffering expertise will make a welcome come back as a fighter.

    Conner Collins(kmma) makes a return to the ring in a lightweight match up against Darren McAuley(pcc)
    Conner is a veteran of UFN,CW and also fought in the first UFR,this will be a tough professional debut for the pcc fighter,but has impressed by winning gold medals in two weight divisions in the recent UFR amateur tournaments and won in the semi pro series in november and is also also nephew to the famous former world boxing champion 'Dave boy McAuley'.

    Yes colm,all the UFR shows are professionaly filmed(fighter interviews and all)and releashed on dvd between aweek and a fortnight after the event.

    In a welterweight match up,and eliminator for Cage Rage Sbg's Clive Staunton will face Geroid McNicholl
    Geroid won the UFR welterweight title in october reversing a previous loss against jonny shiels and showed a much improved clinch game in the process
    Great to have Clive on the show,should be another exciting encounter!.

    That will be an awesome match - Gearoid is one of the top flight Northern Fighters and VERY hard to beat, Clive has all the tools to fight wherever the match goes, I can't wait to see what tactics each will use in this fight!

    In an international featherweight bout we have Navid Yousefi(HILTI NHB),a Shooto japan veteran from Sweden take on Micky Young(PCC)
    Busy couple of months for micky with ROT,then a British title challenge against Dave Elliot at Total Combat,then UFR 8 against one of europes top featherweights.

    International bantamweight contest will see Progressive combat fighter Steve 'Taz' McCombe take on the second of the Hilti NHB fighters from Sweden David Lejenas, another fighter who is signed to Shooto Japan
    Steve has a perfect 4-0-0 record and a great chance for home grown talent to shine against against tough international competition
    A major announcement concerning UFR fighters on the world stage is'nt far off!

    Three Castles mma chief instructor Dylan Costigan makes his professional debut on UFR 8 against PCC's Paddy Lollipop Doherty - Dylan boasts an oustanding amateur record, and took Kevin McAlonan to the wire in his recent semi-pro debut; he will be seeking to establish himself in the UFR Lightweight scene by licking the Lollipop who is also looking to build on his recent game performances.
