Is there a good hotel close to the airport (i.e. to avoid traffic morning of travel)?

Yeah there is a good few but I've never actually stayed at any of them so I've got no recommendations.

I think they'd be pretty pissed if I stated there for one night and left my car there for four days. :)

    Parking:
We offer a number of parking bundles...
    3 nights EUR25.00
    7 nights EUR50.00
    10 nights EUR65.00
    14 nights EUR75.00

probably cheaper in the long term tbh

The Great Southern Hotel Dublin is ideally located in the grounds of Dublin International Airport.

The Great Southern or if your on a budget try the Travel Lodge.

Clarion and Great Southern are the only hotels with the Airport complex (5 min walk, shuttle buses)

Travel lodge and Tulip Inn are at Airside Swords (5 min drive, Tulip has shuttle bus)

Carlton is on the old Swords Rd at Collinstown Cross (5 min drive, shuttle bus)

Bewelys is at the M50/M1 junction.

Well certainly don't move it to the Dublin City forum as Dublin Airport isn't in the city boundaries..... now where's that Fingal Forum gone....

If you want to park, go to the cheaper car park heading out to Santry.
There is a free shuttle service from the airport that takes about 5 minutes, and leaves every 5 minutes.
    http://www.quickpark.ie/

It's €6 per day so that will end up being cheaper for your 4 days.

I've stayed in Bewleys out by the airport. They do a free shuttle into the airport as well. It's a brand new hotel.

It costs €85 a night, the rooms are good and big the hotel itself is very well finished but it is really a one night stay kind of place. The lobby is huge with the bar attached. It has the feel of an airport and seems built to dicourage people from interacting with other guests. There are no seats at the bar, lots of tables with big leather chairs.

    Good value for money though.

    Thanks for replies.

Is Ireland.ie's contention that the Great Southern is 7 clicks from the airport not correct so? You wouldn't walk that in five minutes.

How much is long-term parking in the airport, as compared to the one in Santry?

    Shuttle's from a hotel's no good, as I said I have a car.

The Dublin forum gets f*ck all traffic.

It's definitely no more than 10 minutes from the main building.

    8.50 a day

    http://www.quickpark.ie
    6.00 a day

As for hotels, I can definitely recommend Bewleys.

Isn't that an ironic. Surely it's getting no traffic because you didn't post there :P

I was wrong about the Great Southern, they're talking about Heuston.

Bewleys does Park and Fly for €7/day, might go for that. Depends on how often the transfers run.

    Thanks again.

Holiday Inn is gone, it's now the Clarion. There is also a Crowne Plaza down the road by Santry Stadium. You can book on www.6c.com

The new Bewleys near Clonsaugh is near enough, they run a free shuttle service to and from the airport.

A little further out there's always the Edenmore Hilton!

It's 700 meters, maybe less, from the hotel door to the terminal building doors. However the GSH has its own shuttle bus that will transport you up within a couple of minutes of you telling the reception person that you want to go.

Good for the bar too. =]
