/// BACKLASH /// Third Birthday Party /// Thursday 30 November
Advance tickets 5eu from Big Brother Records, Crow St. & Bernard Shaw pub Richmond St.

Here it is, the night we've been looking forward too more than any this year. Book your Friday
off now as this Thursday we're letting our hair down, all the way down for Backlash's 3rd birthday!

Its been an amazing three years for all of us, we never thought when we started a small Thursday
night back in the heady days of 2003 that anyone would even come to the night, yet alone it would
become one of the best nights in the country and that we'd make so many good friends along the way.

Flashback 2003: the scene in the city had gone a little quiet, dance music had supposedly died.
We created Backlash to try to bring the records that we were listening to a wider audience, to anyone
who would listen and to people who needed a sound to get behind, a scene they could really call their own.

And so Backlash began.. a night for electronic music in all its guises. We mixed up older sounds like
The Pet Shop Boys, Bobby Orlando, Depeche Mode, The Human League and Kraftwerk with the acts
that have been influenced by them; Tiefschwarz, DJ T, Vitalic, James Holden, Hot Chip, The D.F.A
Marc Romboy, The Glimmers and much more.
A sound that has now evolved and twisted into innumerable micro-scenes and sub-genres.

At first Backlash had crowds of 20 and 30 people, we’d even dance on the floor ourselves to make
it look busier! Gradually and then suddenly, we saw our little club grow into a sprawling monster.
Now its populated by one of the most enthusiastic crowd in Dublin, we sometimes have to step back
and laugh at how crazy its all become.

This is how a proper Backlash party goes:

We always like you to leave with a memento of the night and Backlash resident Jon Averill has
recorded a special Mix CD for the occasion which will be only available in the Backlash goodie bag
featuring badges and stickers a select few with have some rather nice mix cds from the likes of Micheal
Mayer, Radioslave and more as well as a preview of Backlash's first release by Digital Circus.

And finally thanks to all who have come to the club over the last 3 years, they've been some of the best
times we've ever had its as much down to you as it is to us. We hope as many of you as possible can
make it to the club this Thursday

& most important of all, dress in yellow & black!

Doors 11pm, Rogue, 64 Dame St (Near The Olympia)
