Sky-in-flats + signal splitter?

I am in an apartment that receives sky (by way of sky-in-flats) to a single port.

I would like to set up a second independent port (in my bedroom). Assuming I have a second digi-box and a second card, is it possible to do this? (obviously, if this were a home set-up, I'd just go with a second lnb)

I have looked at going down the satellite signal splitter route but this appears to have a practical limitation: effectively promotes one of the output receivers to master and one to slave - limiting the slave to viewing channels of the same polarity of the master (which must be active)?!?

    Is the above accurate?

    Are there any other alternatives?

If I contact sky and ask for a second port, must they run a second cable all the way in?
Some concerns here as I am not the owner of said apartment - am looking for a reasonably non-intrusive solution ...

    Thanks!

    Ok, thanks!

I guess I'll contact sky and see about getting a second socket - I guess I can send this via wireless sender to minimize intrusiveness ..

Not if it is a satellite signal. Only the OUTPUT of a Sky digibox / DVD / VHS / etc can go on a Video sender.
