[Req] Remote control power sockets

    Hi,

A while back, Lidl and Aldi were selling a set of 4 remote-controlled power sockets for about 25 euro. Basically you plug the device into a socket, plug an appliance into it, then you can turn it on/off using the (radio) remote control from anywhere in the house. It also has a dimmer.

Called into both shops in Dublin city centre today and they were out of stock. Anyone know if they're available elsewhere (even another aldi/lidl store)? Managers weren't forthcoming.

(Maplin do a similar product but it's more expensive and doesn't have the dimmer)

    Thanks

There was a good few in Aldi on Long Mile Road but that was Saturday.

Cheers for that, I'll drop by tomorrow. It's annoying that you can't ring an Aldi store to see what they have in stock.

BTW, is the Aldi on the Long Mile Road on the same side as Des Kelly Carpets?

Was in there yesterday and they still have them, yes its beside or a door or two up from Des Kelly carpets on the same side.

Picked up a set in Aldi Finglas yesterday afternoon. They had plenty left.

Work very well. Easy to set up. Can switch anything on/off from anywhere around the house....lamps, kettle....whatever.

Aldi ones have no mention of dimming though.

Oh right, perhaps that's only the Lidl ones.

Thanks for the replies, am looking forward to a whole new realm of laziness around the house
