A friend of mine who was big into windsurfing a few years ago used to swear blind that around 80% of one particular make of windsurfing board that were sold never actually went into the water.

They were called disco boards and he reckoned that people used to buy them to strap to the top of their cars when they went down the disco to impress the ladies.

They would never actually used them because they couldn't actually windsurf....

See it's easier to pretend to people that you're into something than it is to actually spend the hours it takes to become proficient.

Maybe this is the same thing.

Maybe they're just replicas and were made with the intention of putting up in a den/pool room etc as the seller says. I'd say they're not playable guitars. Those kinda things are fairly popular in america. People who like rock music for example want some kind of tribute to their music on their wall. Instead of a poster they put a replica Jimi strat on the wall. I'd be surprised if it was anything other than that

Ya know, I can understand hanging up a guitar you've played for years that's literally falling apart but buying a guitar just to put on the wall and never touch? Screw that!
