Enforcement of the charter

    Folks,
I've been trying to take a hands-off approach and let the forum take off on its own. Hence the minimal rules in the charter and my not slapping or banning anyone to this point. But in the last few days, it's become obvious that for some, that's been seen as an invitation to make others uncomfortable in here. They were wrong. Making anyone uncomfortable to be in this forum is Not On.

For the vast majority of you, this will have no effect whatsoever because as is always the way, only one or two are being daft about this. One user's already been banned by the section moderator (and frankly, if I'd gotten there first, I'd have banned him and a few others). That said, there's nothing further coming down the line at present. People need not think they're about to get a PM and a ban for past posts. But from this point on, the charter will be enforced. Anyone breaking the charter and making this place less hospitable to others is going to get a warning and then a ban (unless they go right off the deep end when breaking the charter in which case they'll be banned immediately).

The forum charter is one of the stickied threads; I'd advise everyone to reread it now, just the once. You'll note that the rules basicly say "be excellent to one another; type in english; the mods and admins run the forum". That's it, that's the totality of the rules. You have to be unpleasant to someone else to break them, so there's no excuse for breaking them. Remember, airsoft is just getting started in this country and you guys and girls are the most visible ambassadors for the sport, so do yourselves a favour and keep that in mind. In the long term, you'll wind up much better off if you do so.
