Shame, just read the news posted a week ago that trabolgan wont run this season. such a shame considering that its last race was a yr ago and it won the hennesy being top weight and injuring a tendon whilst doing so... i was there and it payed for my night but that was probably the best performance ive seen from a gold cup prospect until kauto star the ova week:(

yeah the horse has always been fragile and had problems

real pity, that was a hell of a performance in the hennessy last year and the form worked out tremendously well

I backed him at Cheltenham a couple of years ago and there was no doubting his potential. What was impressive about the Hennessey was the weight carrying performance...to be honest though I don't think the form has worked out, as you say, tremendously well.

Tis a pity we won't see him again this season though...anyone know how he got his name?

just looking back through it the horses behind havent actually done as much as i thought ftb

l'ami has been solid as a rock picking up money in the king george, racing post chase and gold cup. cornish rebel and comply or die are decent horses though.

as you say though, winning it off top weight was the most immpresive thing

in the last few years there have been a lot of fantastic weight carrying performances though,
azertyuiop just touched off in the victor chandler, rooster booster in the tote gold trophy, well chief in the victor chandler and baracouda in that sandown race being just a few i can think of

I just think the Hennessy is losing a bit of its shine. This year and last year, possibly bar the winners, are really nothing special.

    i completely agree there

i dont like this years winnner, i think hes being hyped up a silly amount now, hes no gold cup horse

trabolgan and strong flow are the only two recent winners that were really special imo

its not what it used to be, they should take it back to cheltenham tht would make it more appealing:eek: barracouda used to make the day but now tht its retired it is losing its appeal:(

lol... dont explain myself, the race was originally run at cheltenham yrs ago which has more appeal to many people. Barracouda ran on the Hennesey Gold cup weekend in the long distance hurdle and i loved that horse. it ran there last yr in its 2nd to last ever race against inglis drever and came 2nd but was ten by then however it still didnt lose by much. one of my fav horses and i loved to see it at the hennesy. probably lost u again with all my waffling;)
