Hey guys, got a 32" lcd telly there during the week "maxim 11-57" model
got bit of a slight problem.. when I connect it to the pc the tv reports "no pc input"
but if I load a game and then connect it the tv plays it grand, but if I exit the game to return to windows it goes back to "no pc input"
anyone any idea's what could be causing this?
I've got a raedonm 9800 pro by the way.. I think it could be something with the refresh rates or something?
I've done the "spli screen" an made the tvthe primary viewing.. but this takes up more resources..
    any help.. thanks

They telly came with a monitor connection, so I unplug the compuer monitor and plugin the telly into the connection

What resolution are you running at as according to the specifications here the max resolution is 1280x1024.

Also go into the device manager and uninstall the monitor then turn of the computer and plug it into the TV and boot the machine does the screen go all the way to the desktop ?

you have answered the question yourself

i'd say the refreshrate is too high for your nice telly, games tend to change them sort of settings, thats why crt screens click when some games start

    to lower the refresh rate......
    start
control panel (switch it to classic view)
    display
    click on the settings tab
    advanced
    click on the monitor tab
bring the refresh rate down to 60hz
    OK

remember to chage it back to 85hz if you connect a crt monitor, otherwise you will get a splitting headache after an hours use

Ok.. the resolution is set too 1280x960 in 32 true colour,
for this bog standard monitor, Ive always had the refresh rate set at 60hz so I don't see why the tv never picked it up? I've changed it now to 85hz anyway due to your advace - thanks!
8t8 I am, not sure i want to go the road of uninstalling the monitor and then plugging in the telly and it doens't work could i switch back.. monitors are plug and paly though are they so it shouldn't a problem if i plug the toehr one back in..
the settings can't go any lower than 60hz so I'm not too sure were to take it from there?
    thanks for the help lads

The monitor or TV is set to 1280x960 ?

Your TV as a display probably does not support the resolution you have set which is why it loses sync.

As for un-installing the monitor driver that is fine nothing bad will happen when you remove the driver. It will auto detect whatever is plugged in & read the supported resolutions from the EDID in the attached display. Therefore if all goes well it should only display the resolutions supported by the TV.

If for whatever reason it doesn't work and still loses sync just plug back in the monitor or boot to safe mode and delete the monitor driver from their.

look at rear of pc monitor,it usually says 50/60 htz or 75 hz 85hz ,set your graphics adaptor at that for pc use.FOR tv check the manual re lcd refresh rate.look at rear label on lcd tv.are you using svideo or vga connector to tv, or dvi?

I'm using the vga connecter (the normal monitor connecter is all that is, yes?)
at the back of the monitor it says 50hz so maybe thats why it won't work?
when I plug it in an turn on the pc i get the boot screen and the windows splash.. but when it loads into desktop it goes then..

Try what gamer side, you can also use utility's to force a custom refresh rate like Powerstrip.

Did any sort of manual come with the TV outlining all the resolutions ?

One other thing I did find a UK phone number (I think) for Maxim TV's in this post you could give them a call and ask why it's not working.
