And if so which site? as there seems to be a lot of them out there?
A Friend of mind recommended www.tradingpost-appliances.co.uk
I am looking for the following duel fuel Range cooker, American fridge with out Ice dispenser (hard to find) & a dishwasher.

I saw them recommended somewhere here on Boards and tried to order some items from them. In early October, 8 weeks after delivery was first promised and 4 weeks after they had charged the items to my credit card, I was told (in October!) that they could not meet the latest promised delivery date because they had to give priority to people who had ordered appliances in June. I cancelled the order, and after four weeks they had still not refunded the payment to my credit card, so I had to get onto my bank to charge it back to them.

They have a good range and their prices are good too, but going on my experience, you'll need lots of patience if you deal with them . . .

If you're buying anything that uses gas from the UK (the dualfuel range) make sure it has the flame failure device. Authorised Gas fitters here will not install any gas appliance that does not have this device due to regulations (unless you plan fitting the gas line yourself).

I would have thought prices in white goods were pretty competitive in Ireland. I could be wrong though. Maybe if you wanted something specialised, it would be worth bringing it in?

Power City is a big operation and can demand pretty good terms from wholesalers (from what I've heard from the wholesalers).

Strictly speaking, UK operators should not ship to you in Ireland unless they have an arrangement for disposal of your old appliance.

Paddynead, we purchased our white goods from ebay, all from the one supplier.
Got a integrated fridge, dishwasher, double oven, gas hob, island hood, freezer and washing machine.
All delivered to Ireland and we saved a lot of money. There were all either SMEG or Baumatic. On the hood alone we saved 400 euro, the same with the double oven.

And would you not be worried about warranties and after-sales service, or how does that work out?

Did the supplier your bought the appliances off deliver, or did you have to organise the delivery yourself seperately?

They were ready for immediate delivery but I waited until I had purchased (won!) all good on ebay, I purchaed off the one power seller last year.

No issues with Warranty, I contacted SMEG and Baumatic and they would stand over the goods as long as I had receipts.

They organised the delivery for me. I had 3 pallets of goods from them

Like Yop we bought our white goods on ebay from an ebay shop....
secondtek. They sell white goods that have very very slight marks on them..usually only on the sides of the items...they are very careful about what they put on the market. Buy it now and auction prices are very realistic. Very very helpful people to deal with. Will arrange shipping or you can do it yourself....we organised our own as it was cheaper for the three pallets of stuff we bought. They stand over all warranties anyway so you have no worries. We had an issue with fridge and they sorted it out without any problems. Very good to deal with and offer much more value for money. We saved 2400+ on our Smeg fridge alone. Bought a fab Baumatic washing machine too. They often have large fridges without water...but paddyned why would you not want water. We find it fab. Our little guy just helps himself and his friends to drinks and you don't have to run when he asks for a drink (loves water) any longer. And no they never make a mess....designed in such a way that they can't really! Check them out...you will save a lot of money.

Byte...do the UK have different regulations regarding flame failure to Ireland?

More than welcome Yop. You recommended secondtek to us and you were dead right! Hope you've moved in and that you are happy with your house.
