City of Heroes/Villains and Irish Broadband?

    Hi guys,

Has anyone on here had any problems with Irish Broadband and City of Heroes recently? My connection to their server appears to be knackered. Or any problems with MMOs and Irish Broadband in general?

    Cheers,

    Patrick

I play CoX daily and have Irish Broadband, but I'm afraid I've not experienced any problems from the IB end of things, there have been some problems for the past few weeks with lag and disconnects due to a problem with a German router if you check the official forum for CoX though.

No its definitly an IBB problem. I'm getting around 65% packet loss and ping response times of around 450 ms for the IBB default gateway. Which is terrible.

Sure I'll just keep complaing to them, see if they'll do something.

    /netgraph 1

that will show you in game the status.

From the command line (if XP) type

    netstat -nab

find out which ip address is being used by COX and then do...

    tracert 0.0.0.0 (numbers = ip)

Will tell you where the problem is.

Don't really understand the netgraph figures. Plenty of red peaks though. Pinged Irish BB Gateway.

Well from what I can see there the problem isn't IBB, it's that router:
    so-0-1-0.fra40.ip.tiscali.net

If I remember tonight I'll try find out what route my connection takes for CoX and let you know.

PS - i8 is supposed to be going live today along with the veteran rewards.

    tiscali.net is TINET.

Looks like the problem is there. Checking TINET if IBB are dual homed then you shouldn't be getting any problem from them.

I don't understand what your saying. Who should I get onto to sort this out? TINET or IBB?

    I'm properly confused now.
