Any recommendations? Trying to find a good one but they all seem crap and outdated with lousy interfaces. And most are still Power pc too.

Thanks bedlam, Colloquy looks really good. I had an old version already but didn't realise it had been made universal.

I have Conversation, which might be worth looking at.

I'm going to go for the UNIX option and recommend getting irssi. It'll do pretty much everything you want without fuss and it's small. All you need is the knowledge to get and install it and you're away.

universal binary and free, opera browser is brill for tabbed browsing and has some great advanced features like mouse gestures, but also has built in bit-torrent and IRC...

seriously guys... i dont know why people are so reluctant to use opera. its like firefox with a few extra kool bits.

So if the browser crashes, my torrents stop and my IRC session disappears?
    I don't think so

I've never managed to get Opera to crash, though I prefer using Safari for some reason.
