    Hello,

I recently had multiroom installed and I'm wondering about 2 questions,

Do I have to leave the 2 digiboxes on standby all night in order to maintain the phone connection from the 2 boxes.

In the event of turning off the 2 boxes at night and then turning only 1 box back on the following day will Sky assume (wrongly) that I have disconnected the second box from the phone line and possibly start sending letters?

    Thanks.

    Ooops! Clicked wrong button.
    Sorry!

Yes, Sky prefer it if you never power your Sky hardware off, be it Multiroom or just standard Sky digibox. As software upgrades as well as phone communications are usually done at nighttime.

    Hello Byte,

Thanks for the reply. Whatever about Sky (and the ESB!) prefering that boxes are left on all night I'm sure the Greens and environmentalists would not! I'm still wondering will it cause problems for me if I do switch off at night?

    Thanks.

You can only switch it off by unplugging it.

It may miss updates and card keys which might mean wating an hour to 24 hrs before you can view after reconnection, depending how long it was unplugged.
