When I go around a right hand bend over 40/50mph the handbrake light comes on. Any idea what causes this? Its a Volvo S40.
    Thanks.

Low brake fluid levels possibly. Thats what happens in my corolla when it even drops to 1mm below max!!

You may find your brakes pads are worn very low, which drops the fluid level and brings the light on. If you are topping up only put a small drop in, enough to extinguish the lamp, otherwise when new pads are fitted the excess will need to be bled out !
