    Hi all,

Just wanted to remind peops about our tournament next Saturday in Sligo.

Its a €200 + €20 freeze-out, with top class dealers, tables and even poker chips.

Location; Adelaide Casino, close to the train station and Dublin to Donegal road on (funnily enough) Adelaide Street.
Start time; Registration opens at 12 nooooon and closes at 1:45pm.
    Tournament starts at 2pm sharp.

This will be a two day event but we expect it to finish by about 2am on Sunday morning based on 50 players.....So really its a one day event.
If it goes past 3am on Saturday night we will come back on Sunday (late afternoon) to finish out the play.

The Adelaide Casino are really pulling out all the stops on this one with food and great atmosphere guaranteed.

We are hoping that as many players support this as possible as from this we are hoping to kick start a National Casino Clubs Poker Tour, Irish Poker Association (whereby lots of clubs can work together to promote poker and bring in new players from all walks of life) and lots of other things.....But we really want your support most of all so that they will have a little bit of money left over to feed me and put me up for the night in the lovely town of Sligo.

Don't forget 2pm start next Saturday.
    Blind structure is below;

    Hi all,

I just wanted to send out another reminder about this tournament.

I realise that it clashes with the Sporting EOM and the Macau Christmas Festival which is pretty bad planning on my part but there just doesn't seem to be a good time to put on a tournament without it clashing at the moment.

However, if you are in the Sligo area or even if you're going to travel to this tournament, you can be assured it will be top notch.

We've had quite a few players qualified and would expect at least 40 runners (€8,000 preize-pool).

I would also appreciate if interested players could post here or PM me as I will be opening a book on the event just to add a little extra interest to players and spectators.

    Thanks,
    Stephen@pokerireland.ie

if match is off myself and aodea will travel... but if you give me odds of 75-1 like Mike did i will refuse to play! in fact you should give me odds of something like 6/4 to really scare the locals...

Mr and Mrs Dim will be attending Stephen. The people at the Adelaide are very very nice and welcoming. A lovely little gem of a place.

I'll be playing this in place of online qualifier, Busbybhoy. What's the story with parking nearby. It's been a while since i've been to Sligo.

directions from dublin please... our match is off so we'll be 'showing our support' for the national casino tour...

    Here is a map.

The red circle is a roundabout, go straight through (there will be a school at the 3rd exit), very close to town on the N4 you should start a down a hill after it then take the 2nd exit and park over a Dunnes or at the Casino.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the support.....Hopefully the Casino Tour really gets going over the next few weeks/months. The Adelaide has to get a lot of praise for giving the go ahead for this tournament. They're taking a bit of a risk allowing a complete stranger like me run a tournament in their venue.

    Directions from South Dublin......
    Get onto M50 heading Northbound.
Take the exit for Galway/Sligo which you can't really miss.
Follow the signs for Sligo and it will take you right into the town from which the casino is really easy to find but failing that give me a ring on 0872 424 626 ( I know you have my phone number already but it might be relevant to someone else reading this thread).
You are looking for Adelaide Street which is close to the train station and Dunnes Stores.

I would allow about two and a half hours for the drive.

    See you tomorrow.

Good luck with this tomorrow Stephen -I hope you get a great turnout.

Anyone thinking of going should really make the effort as Stephen runs an excellent tourney- it's an extremely playable structure and excellent value for money and I reckon the standard of play will be pretty good too. The Adelaide's a great venue, Mark and Paul run a really good show and the atmosphere is very friendly.

    Good luck!

    Hi all,

Just wanted to remind everyone that there are live updates going on at www.pokerireland.ie from Sligo.

Willow Connolly, Niall Mc Namara and Michael Higgins are a few of the names battling it out.....The standard is very high, its been over an hour since we lost a player but thats to be expected as it is a marathon session.
